Confirmed varieties of 2nd Conf. of stamps of Public Employees Unions

In August 1959, the Soviet Union issued a commemorative postage stamp dedicated to the Second International Conference of Trade Unions of Public Service and Related Occupations. This conference brought together union representatives from various countries whose members worked in service sectors — municipal, social, and public utilities.

The stamp features the conference emblem: stylized elements symbolizing the unity of workers of different professions and nations, underscored by a globe motif that emphasizes the international nature of the event. The artist of the stamp was E. Gundobin.

The issue date of the stamp was 12 August 1959, and its face value was 40 kopecks. Printed by offset and rendered in multiple colors, the stamp has a bright and striking appearance. Its release symbolized the importance of the trade union movement in socialist countries and the international solidarity of workers.

Public service trade unions in the USSR were part of a broader union system under the Central Council of Professional Unions, making this conference also a manifestation of worker cooperation both domestically and internationally.
